A wave of shock has gripped residents of Yaw Wusukrom in the Bono Region after the body of a 27-year-old pregnant woman, identified as Haggar Nyorkpatey, was found lifeless on her farm. The heartbreaking discovery occurred near Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District, where she had gone to work and never returned.

Police investigations reveal that Haggar, who was seven months pregnant, met a violent death. Her throat had been slashed with a sharp object, and traces of blood were found in her mouth and ears, pointing to a brutal attack.

The Bono Regional Police Command confirmed that the case came to light when Charles Asante, the deceased’s brother-in-law, reported her missing on November 6, 2025. According to his report, Haggar had left home for her farm early in the day but failed to return by evening, prompting a community search that ended in tragedy.

Officers who arrived at the scene retrieved the body and began a detailed examination of the area. Preliminary findings suggest clear signs of foul play, though no arrests have yet been made. The police have assured the public that efforts are underway to trace and capture those responsible.

Haggar’s body has been moved to the Dormaa-Ahenkro Traditional mortuary for preservation and an autopsy as investigations continue. The horrific incident has left the farming community in mourning and fear, with many calling for swift justice for the slain expectant mother.
