President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the development of the Savannah Region, as he joined the Gonjaland Youth Association in Buipe to mark its 50th anniversary.
Addressing participants at the ceremony, the President outlined key interventions in the education sector, including plans to establish STEM schools in Tinga and Busunu, expand infrastructure across Senior High Schools, and upgrade selected Category B institutions to Category A status.
He underscored the importance of education in national transformation, noting that it remains the bridge between present challenges and future aspirations.
President Mahama also announced plans to construct a modern sports stadium for the region, as well as 24-hour markets in every district to stimulate economic activity, create jobs, and support local businesses, particularly among the youth.
The event brought together traditional leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders from across Gonjaland to celebrate five decades of unity and development.
