Bishop Sam Owusu, the preacher who earlier predicted victory for John Mahama in the 2024 elections, has resurfaced with another bold prophecy—this time concerning the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming presidential primary.
According to him, outspoken politician Kennedy Agyapong is destined to clinch the flagbearer slot in the NPP’s primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026, defeating four other contenders. In a widely circulated video, the cleric confidently declared that Agyapong will secure 57.7% of the votes, cementing his place as the party’s candidate for the 2028 general elections.
Bishop Owusu explained that Agyapong’s rise is spiritually ordained, claiming that God will use him to draw over one million young men into the NPP. He stressed that these followers will be entrepreneurial and business-driven, shaping a new era of growth for the party.
The preacher also placed Kennedy Agyapong’s destiny in a larger national picture. He said that while former President John Mahama has been chosen to lay the groundwork for Ghana’s transformation, it is Agyapong who will expand the foundation into an industrial revolution and position Ghana as a global tourism hub.
The prophecy comes as the NPP prepares for a keenly contested race, with five aspirants battling for the top spot. Aside from Kennedy Agyapong, the list includes former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former party General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong, who also serves as MP for Abetifi.
Delegates are expected to vote in January to determine who will lead the party into the next general election.
