In a surprising turn of events, Prophet Kumchacha has issued an apology to former President John Mahama for criticizing his governance during his term in office.
The prophet, known for his outspoken views, has had a change of heart, admitting that Mahama’s management of the country was far better than the current government’s performance.
Speaking in an interview, Prophet Kumchacha expressed his disappointment and shock at the current economic hardships facing the country, saying that Mahama’s leadership was more effective in managing the economy.
He also criticized Kennedy Agyapong, a fellow member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), for campaigning for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia despite heavily criticizing him during the NPP Presidential Primaries.
Prophet Kumchacha’s apology and praise for Mahama’s governance have sparked a lively debate in the political landscape, with many calling for more accountability and constructive criticism from religious leaders.
In 2023, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, the founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, made a political move by joining the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the largest opposition party.
A viral video on social media showed the renowned prophet celebrating his decision with NDC members, abandoning his independent presidential bid to support the NDC in their quest to unseat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Kumchacha had earlier defected from the NPP, citing their poor performance in government, and had intended to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 Presidential Elections. However, he has now thrown his weight behind the NDC, aligning with the sentiments of many Ghanaians who blame the NPP for the country’s economic woes.
