The Prophets and Spiritual Churches Council, Ghana, has donated assorted food items to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to support Muslims during the Ramadan period.
The items included 30 bags of 50 kg rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil, 10 cartons of Milo, 10 cartons of milk and 10 50 kg bags of sugar.
The life patron of the council in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, Senior Prophet Abraham Atuahene, presented the items on behalf of the council at the residence of the National Chief Imam at New Fadama in Accra.
He was accompanied by some leading members of the council.
Support
The Spiritual Leader of the council, Nakoa Prophet Nazareth Ansah Jamson, said over the years he had led the council to support the Chief Imam during the Ramadan season.
Speaking to journalists after the presentation, Senior Prophet Atuahene said fasting was beneficial to both mankind and the nation, and so they thought it wise to support Muslims during Ramadan.
He said the council appreciated what muslims were doing and commended Prophet Nakoa, the initiator of the donation, adding that the brotherly love shown by him was a clear demonstration of the peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians.
“Our father, Prophet Nakoa, has demonstrated brotherly love to Muslims, and this is beautiful,” he said.
Exercise
Senior Prophet Atuahene said the spiritual exercise Muslims were undertaking was important to every soul on earth, especially to Ghanaians.
Such an exercise, he said, prevented disturbances that were being recorded in other countries and parts of the world.
Earlier, Sheikh Sharubutu, through an interpreter, prayed for Allah’s blessings for Prophet Nakoa and members of the council.
“May Allah help him and his congregation, may Allah increase them, may Allah grant them more strength.
Whatever he does in terms of humanitarianism, may Allah grant him more blessings,” he said.
