Ghanaian musician Quamina MP has weighed in on the public buzz surrounding Nigerian star Davido’s generous $5,000 donation to Ananzo, warning critics not to use that act to paint Ghanaian artists as stingy.
In a recent conversation with Amansan Krakye, the rapper shared his disappointment over growing assumptions that musicians in Ghana don’t support fans or show generosity. He explained that while Davido’s donation made headlines, many Ghanaian acts prefer to extend their kindness quietly, away from social media and public applause.
Quamina MP suggested that some local musicians may have already supported Ananzo in ways the public will never know. He argued that just because such acts aren’t flaunted doesn’t mean they don’t happen.
He further explained that it’s unfair to judge generosity based on what’s visible, stressing that behind-the-scenes acts of kindness are just as meaningful, if not more. The musician insisted that Ghanaian artists often offer help—both to fans and ordinary people—but choose to keep it private, out of humility or personal preference.
By setting the record straight, Quamina MP hopes to shift the narrative and remind Ghanaians that support doesn’t always need an audience.
