Singer and entrepreneur Ray J has shared a worrying update about his health after a recent hospitalisation in Las Vegas, saying doctors told him he may have only months to live.

The 45-year-old posted an emotional update on social media describing severe heart trouble and the fallout from a recent bout of pneumonia.

Ray J said medical staff found his heart was functioning at roughly 25 percent capacity and that parts of the organ appear to be severely damaged.

He told followers that physicians warned the damage may be irreversible and that he was told to expect only months more, a prognosis he summed up by saying 2027 could be “a wrap” for him.

In a frank admission, Ray J linked his condition to past problems with alcohol and substance use, saying he believed heavy drinking and Adderall had taken a toll on his heart over time.

He has described portions of his heart as “black” and has spoken about considering drastic measures and alternative treatments.

He also outlined aspects of his current treatment plan, saying he is on multiple medications commonly given to people with heart failure and that doctors have discussed devices such as a pacemaker or defibrillator as possible next steps.

Ray J said he remained bedridden and was scheduled for follow-up care and further testing.

The update follows a serious pneumonia hospitalisation earlier this month. Ray J has faced health scares in the past, including a 2021 admission for pneumonia, and he thanked fans for their prayers and support in recent posts.

Reaction has been swift across social platforms, with fans sending messages of support. Reporting so far is based on Ray J’s own public comments and social media videos, and no independent medical documentation has been released.
