Residents of Sokoban Wood Village protest dusty roads over rising respiratory cases

Residents of Sokoban Wood Village and the New Site area in the Ashanti Region have staged a protest over the deplorable and dusty condition of their road, calling on the government and the Minister for Roads and Highways to urgently intervene.

According to the aggrieved residents, the poor state of the road has exposed them to severe dust pollution, leading to an increase in respiratory and inflammatory diseases, particularly among children and the elderly.

They further lamented the deteriorated condition of the road has created security concerns, exposing residents and commuters to frequent armed robbery attacks during both the day and night.

Addressing the media during the protest, Nana Boakye Yiadom, Kaasehene–Adontehene, expressed deep concern about the situation and appealed to the government to expedite the completion of the road project.
