The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, have sponsored free medical screening and treatment for 135 retired pastors, their spouses, and widows of deceased pastors in the Ashanti Region.
The beneficiaries were drawn from the Ashanti East, Ashanti West and Ashanti North areas of the church.
The outreach took place at the Light House Assembly of God Church in Kumasi, where Rev. Wengam visited to interact with the retired ministers and widows and expressed appreciation for their dedicated service to the church.
In addition to the medical screening and treatment, the couple provided lunch for all participants and presented each beneficiary with a cash gift.
The medical services were delivered by the Cedar Medical Outreach Team of Cedar Mountain Chapel, East Legon, an Assemblies of God congregation. The team, made up of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals, provided screening, consultation and treatment.
This is the second time Rev. and Mrs. Wengam have organised such a medical outreach in the Ashanti Region for retired ministers and spouses, as well as widows of deceased pastors.
The first outreach was held in February 2022 at the Emmanuel Temple Assembly of God Church in Kumasi.
