In the spirit of the festive season, two non-governmental organisations, RityDav Foundation and NexA, came together to extend love and support to inmates of the Ghana Prisons Service, Koforidua.
The collaborative visit was marked by the donation of essential items including bags of rice, cooking oil, slippers, assorted foodstuffs, toiletries, and other necessities aimed at improving the welfare of the inmates.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana news, Charity Akosua, the CEO of RityDav Foundation, shared the inspiration behind the visit. She explained that after watching a documentary featuring an ex-convict, she was deeply moved by a message encouraging donors to remember inmates alongside orphans and widows.
On her part, the founder of NexA Foundation, Ms. Damien Nexas described the collaboration as a meaningful way to give back to society during the festive period.
The Officer in charge of Welfare at the Koforidua Local Prisons, DSP Maxwell Kwame Asare expressed appreciation for the thoughtful support, while he commended RityDav Foundation and NexA for their generosity and dedication to inclusive community support.
After the donations, members of both organisations engaged the inmates in a friendly chat, interacted with prison officers, and toured the facility.
