Ghanaian businessman, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has triggered a fresh public debate after sharing new photos of himself for the first time since his widely discussed divorce ruling.

The court awarded Joana Quaye a lump sum of GH₵300,000, a one-third share of their matrimonial home at Dansoman, two Jaguar FX vehicles, and GH₵5,000 monthly upkeep for their three children.

The decision drew widespread criticism, particularly as Joana had reportedly sought GH₵50 million in compensation after 16 years of marriage, during which she is said to have co-founded the business that contributed to Quaye’s wealth.

The ruling quickly sparked outrage across social media, with many users questioning the fairness of the settlement. Joana Quaye’s legal team subsequently filed an appeal, arguing that the judgment did not adequately reflect her contributions to the marriage and shared assets.

Amid the ongoing controversy, Richard Nii Armah Quaye posted new images of himself aboard a private jet, appearing relaxed and focused on business activities.

Dressed in a blue shirt, navy blue trousers, and designer glasses, the businessman captioned the photos: “On the move. Closing business deals.”
