On Accra’s Akraman–Ashalaja–Amasaman route, drivers like Stephen Kumi wake up every day chasing a simple dream: to earn an honest living.
Instead, they are forced to battle deep potholes and frequent breakdowns. Kumi’s work-and-pay vehicle is slowly falling apart, and he is not alone.
Drivers and residents who ply this route say the poor road network is turning daily travel into a nightmare.
