Police in the Tema Region have arrested seven individuals, including two juveniles, in connection with a violent robbery incident at Ashaiman’s Sakaska Park and Dagomba Junction in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a police report signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu of the Tema Regional Public Affairs Unit, the incident unfolded when a group of young men ambushed victims at the two locations. Armed with a weapon, the suspects allegedly made away with several valuable items, including an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, an Infinix Hot 40i, and a backpack containing a Dell laptop and its charger, a power bank, and cash.
Following swift action by police officers and assistance from community members, two suspects—Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey—were apprehended at the scene shortly after the attack.
Further investigations and intelligence gathering led to the arrest of Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile, who were found in possession of the stolen backpack and Dell laptop.
The crackdown didn’t end there. Two more individuals—Bernard Dzumador and another unnamed juvenile—were later picked up with the stolen iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung A03.
All suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities have confirmed that the individuals will be processed and arraigned before court in due course.
