Frimpong Yaw Francis, popularly known as Nana Pooley among Asante Kotoko fans, tragically lost his life after being stabbed in the aftermath of the team’s 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC.
The incident occurred on February 2, 2025, following a violent scuffle at Nana Koramansah Park in Nsoatre, Bono Region.
Despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment, Nana Pooley succumbed to his injuries, with his passing later confirmed in an official statement by Asante Kotoko.
As part of the traditional funeral rites, his widow performed a significant cultural duty on March 6, 2025, by presenting farewell items to honour her late husband.
This customary act symbolizes a final tribute and marks her transition as she bids him goodbye.
