Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has finally addressed the social media storm surrounding a video of NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi handing her money beside his white Range Rover.
The footage, which gained traction on platform X (formerly Twitter), sparked intense public criticism. Viewers questioned whether the National Communications Officer was openly distributing party funds in public, triggering debates about financial conduct within the NDC.
But in a swift response, Agradaa downplayed the assumptions. According to her, Sammy Gyamfi gave her a modest sum of $1,000, which she claimed was intended for fuel, not any extravagant or suspicious purpose. She dismissed the accusations of opulence or misuse of party resources.
Agradaa also used the moment to express her longstanding affiliation with the NDC, revealing that she had previously offered her residence for free during party campaigns. “I have helped the NDC a lot,” she added, suggesting that her loyalty and contribution to the party were being overlooked in the current wave of criticism.
Interestingly, the cash controversy has revived past accusations from 2024, where Sammy Gyamfi was alleged to have used party funds for a luxurious trip to Miami with his wife. He has since vehemently denied those claims, calling them a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing his image.
While Agradaa’s clarification may ease some of the tension surrounding the recent video, public scrutiny remains high. With the 2024 general elections approaching, every move by key political figures is under the microscope, and incidents like these continue to raise concerns about image, ethics, and transparency in leadership.
