Second Suspect Arrested over Police Officer Killing

The police have arrested one more suspect in connection with the killing of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region during a robbery on February 8.

The suspect, identified as Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, was arrested at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga, on February 17, 2026, in a joint intelligence-led operation.

“Items retrieved from the suspect include three mobile phones, which are currently being analysed as part of ongoing investigations,” the police reported in a statement.

According to the police, the suspect has been seen in videos displaying weapons believed to be linked to criminal activities in the area.

It has since instituted a special Police operation to locate and retrieve the weapons as well as arrest other accomplices connected to the case.

The first suspect, identified as Simon Apusiga, aged 42, was traced and arrested at his hideout in the Tarkwa Huni Valley area in the Western Region on February 10, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation.
