Ghanaian singer-songwriter and producer Akwaboah Jnr, born Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr. and son of the late highlife legend Kwadwo Akwaboah, has shared advice on the importance of supportive friendships.

In a self-recorded video, Akwaboah highlighted the challenges of finding genuine supporters in the entertainment industry.

He urged his fans to surround themselves with friends who believe in their dreams and stand by them through career and business pursuits.

According to him, friends who fail to offer support when needed do not deserve to be called friends.

Touching on his personal life, Akwaboah addressed the criticism he and his wife faced after their recent marriage.

He noted that as a public figure, he expected scrutiny but took proactive steps to prepare his wife emotionally for the negativity.

Despite the backlash and conspiracy theories they encountered online, he revealed that these experiences strengthened their bond, emphasising that love and respect remain central to their relationship.

“When I got married to my wife, we experienced all kinds of backlash from social media. We just laugh at some of the comments and move on. The most important thing is we love and respect each other.
