The Kingdom of Eswatini showed solidarity with the Asante Kingdom during the ongoing burial rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The southern African nation was represented at Manhyia Palace on September 17, 2025, by Deputy Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla, who extended her country’s condolences and support to the Asante Kingdom in this period of mourning.
The third day of the carefully planned funeral attracted a host of dignitaries, including the Igbo King Eze Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, Paramount Chiefs of Sefwi Anhwiaso and Aflao, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.
The burial rites, which began on September 15, will conclude on September 18 with the interment of Her Majesty at Breman Baamu.
Dignitaries and the general public have been attending the sequential filing past ceremonies, held between 5 am and 5 pm, with a restriction on outdoor movement beginning at 9 pm on the final day to ensure the smooth conduct of the funeral.
The presence of the Eswatini delegation reinforces the international recognition and respect commanded by the Asante Kingdom, highlighting the unity and support extended by other monarchies during this solemn occasion.
