Dancehall star Shatta Wale has strongly refuted claims linking him to fraudulent activities, describing the allegations as baseless and unfounded.
The award-winning artist addressed the issue during his performance at the BYK Concert at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. Midway through his set, he paused to confront the rumours circulating widely on social media.
Performing his track “Prove You Wrong,” Shatta Wale declared that his success stems from years of dedication and hard work in music—not illegal ventures. “Me, Shatta Wale, I don’t do fraud. I don’t do anything illegal,” he told the crowd, adding that he stood before God to denounce those spreading such claims.
He explained that the song embodies his determination to rise above criticism and false narratives that have shadowed his career, serving as a direct response to those questioning the source of his achievements.
His remarks come amid heightened public attention following recent arrests by the FBI and Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) involving alleged online fraud and romance scams. The developments have fuelled speculation online, with some attempting to link the artist to the cases.
Shatta Wale, however, maintained that he has no ties to fraudulent activity, urging the public to distinguish rumours from facts.
