Shatta Wale has finally opened up about what many believed to be a deep and bitter rivalry between him and fellow dancehall star Stonebwoy — but according to him, it was all media hype.
Speaking in a recent interview, Shatta Wale downplayed the tension that fans have been made to believe exists between him, Stonebwoy, and even Samini
. He revealed that he and Stonebwoy actually live just five minutes apart, adding that there’s no real drama between them in private.
According to Shatta Wale, the idea that there is a feud between him and other top Ghanaian artistes is mostly manufactured by the media.
He believes journalists often highlight the negatives and ignore the reality that many of them are on good terms.
He noted that although the public constantly brings up issues between him and Stonebwoy, they remain friendly, and much of what is said online doesn’t reflect the truth. “People don’t know Stonebwoy is actually my neighbour. All this talk about rivalry is mostly planted by the media,” he shared.
The outspoken artiste also addressed his relationship with Samini and other names that have made headlines in supposed beefs with him. He insisted that behind the scenes, there’s more peace than people think.
Shatta Wale admitted that the pressure of the entertainment industry sometimes forces them to play along with these media-created narratives because conflict attracts more attention. However, he stressed that most of it isn’t real.
He concluded by acknowledging that even Stonebwoy doesn’t enjoy the false narrative surrounding them and urged fans to see beyond the surface.
