Sammy Flex, the manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has responded to speculations regarding the musician’s absence from businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye’s extravagant 40th birthday celebration.
The founder of Bills Micro-Credit hosted a lavish party on March 22, 2025, attracting a host of dignitaries and top African entertainers.
The event, held at the Black Star Square in Accra, featured performances from Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Efya, Davido, and Diamond Platnumz, among others.
While the celebration became the talk of the town, Shatta Wale’s no-show sparked widespread rumours.
Some claimed he was not invited, while others suggested he had turned down the invitation due to financial disagreements over his performance fee.
Addressing the rumours in a video, Sammy Flex confirmed that Shatta Wale had indeed received an invitation to the event.
He revealed that while he was in the United Kingdom, an industry insider, Soriyah, reached out to him regarding Wale’s inclusion in the guest list. He then directed her to a team member, ensuring the invitation was properly received.
Sammy Flex stressed that if Wale and his team had decided to attend, they would have had no issue doing so. However, he noted that every artiste has their own principles and expectations regarding performances and appearances.
His clarification puts an end to speculations about whether Shatta Wale was overlooked or deliberately stayed away from the high-profile celebration.
