A heated exchange erupted on Aluta FM when musician and 2Hypegang founder Showboy sharply confronted radio host Fiifi Pratt over questions linking him to the arrest of Dada Joe Remix. The incident occurred during an interview on the station’s Afro Joint programme.
The tension began when Pratt referenced online rumours suggesting Showboy played a role in Dada Joe Remix being apprehended by the FBI. The claims stem from a video Showboy previously posted, where he spoke about fraud-related arrests in Ghana — a message that circulated shortly before Dada Joe was reportedly taken into custody.
Showboy viewed the line of questioning as irresponsible and expressed strong frustration that Pratt would rely on social media speculation rather than verified information. He stressed that a broadcaster has a responsibility to examine official documentation showing authorities had been monitoring Dada Joe long before his incarceration.
He also explained that insinuations of being an informant carry severe consequences within street and entertainment circles, making such labels reckless and dangerous. According to Showboy, careless accusations can put lives at risk.
The conversation grew so intense that he considered ending the appearance altogether and accused the host of giving space to misinformation. He insisted he would not entertain interviews where false narratives are given credibility.
Showboy ended his remarks with a warning to the wider media community, stating that any journalist who intends to discuss him without proper research should refrain from seeking interviews, as he would not tolerate defamatory suggestions about his involvement in criminal arrests.
