A heartbreaking incident has emerged involving a Keta Business Senior High School student, Gloria Segoe, who was discovered dead in a stream at Tomefa in the Ga South Municipality. She had left school after requesting an exeat, claiming she was visiting her grandmother in Agbozome. However, investigations have revealed that she instead traveled to Accra to visit her boyfriend.
The tragic discovery was made on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025, after a distress call prompted the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to intervene. The rescue team recovered her body from the stream just 40 minutes after being alerted and handed it over to the police for further examination.
Her mother later identified her at the Police Hospital morgue.
Authorities have since arrested the deceased’s boyfriend in connection with the case. Though he is cooperating with police, he has denied any wrongdoing. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding Gloria’s untimely death.
