The moment quickly sparked discussion across social media platforms, particularly after Wendy Shay shared a cryptic post the following day that many interpreted as a reaction to her mentee’s appearance, which she reportedly had not approved.
As questions mounted, Sista Afia turned to her social media platforms to set the record straight, rejecting claims that she had a direct hand in bringing Tracy Shay onto the stage.
“My attention has been drawn to a number of social media stories, videos, and write-ups suggesting that I personally invited the young lady, Tracy Shay, onto the stage during my concert,” she stated.
The singer stressed that the decision was not hers and that she had no involvement in the circumstances surrounding the performance.
“I wish to clearly state that I have no knowledge of how or when she got onto the stage, and I did not personally invite her to do so,” she added.
Sista Afia also stressed that her focus remains on the broader significance of the event, which marked ten years of her journey in the music industry, a milestone she described as both rare and deeply meaningful.
“At this moment, my main focus is on the overall success of my 10th Anniversary Celebration in the music industry, which was a significant milestone for my career,” Sista Afia averred.
