Popular skit maker and musician, Oluwa Dolarz, has fired back at critics who condemned his latest music video, which features elements of Islamic prayer and fasting.
The video, which humorously portrays the temptations faced during Ramadan, sparked outrage among Muslim viewers, who accused him of misrepresenting their religious practices.
In response to the backlash, Oluwa Dolarz defended himself, arguing that many critics do not fully understand their faith and blindly follow religious rules.
“Some Muslims are criticizing me because of the post I made,” he wrote. “It’s unfortunate, but it seems that many do not truly understand their religion—they just follow the rules blindly.”
His statement further fueled debate, with social media users offering mixed reactions. While some insisted that religious beliefs should always be treated with respect, others supported his right to creative expression.
He wrote:
