In a chilling incident that has left the community of Somanya in shock, 30-year-old Otu Samuel was found dead near a burnt tricycle in Dorhetso, Eastern Region, early Saturday morning, May 3.
The circumstances surrounding his death have raised several questions, with police now investigating the possibility of foul play.
The tricycle, identified by the registration number M-23-GR 7942, was discovered ablaze next to Samuel’s body around 2 a.m. Sources close to the investigation suggest that Samuel and his passengers were being pursued after accusations of theft, but while the passengers managed to escape, Samuel was left behind.
Despite the intense nature of the discovery, witnesses reported no sounds of distress or involvement in a mob attack, leading investigators to question the true nature of the incident.
Samuel was confirmed dead after being taken to the Yilo Krobo District Hospital, where his body has since been sent to the morgue for further examination.
No arrests have been made, and police are calling on anyone with information to come forward and assist in piecing together the events leading to his untimely death.
