Sonnie Badu Slams Prophets of Doom Following Vice President’s Illness

Published:

Ghanaian gospel singer and spiritual leader, Sonnie Badu, has sharply criticized fellow prophets who focus on delivering ominous predictions about the lives of prominent individuals.

In a recent post on his Instagram page, Badu expressed his concerns over the rising trend of “doom prophecies” within Ghana, particularly in relation to the recent health issues faced by Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Badu pointed out that such practices, which have become more common in recent years, are not a true reflection of divine power. “Dear major and minor prophets, there is something called the word of wisdom, which simply means that whatever you see, you should speak with wisdom,” Badu wrote, urging his fellow prophets to exercise caution when sharing their revelations.

The gospel artist emphasized that prophesying death, particularly regarding the Vice President’s health, does not enhance a prophet’s standing or credibility.

Instead, he argued, it casts them as “prophets of doom” and serves no constructive purpose.

He further stated that the purpose of divine revelation is to guide and uplift, not to serve as a tool for sensationalism. “God reveals to redeem,” he said, asserting that prophets who share troubling visions for self-promotion, without offering hope or redemption, are not aligned with divine will.

Badu concluded his post with heartfelt prayers for Vice President Opoku-Agyemang, wishing for her swift recovery.

This statement comes amid widespread speculation and claims from various prophets that they had foreseen the Vice President’s illness, with some even taking credit for “predicting” her medical condition.

Ghana’s Vice President was recently flown abroad for treatment after being diagnosed with what some sources, including political commentator Okatakyie Afrifa, suggest may have been a stroke.
