Manasseh Azure (R) said that his sources claim Ofori-Atta (L) was living normally
Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has revealed that Ghana’s former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, appears to be living a normal life in Washington, DC.
According to him, his sources indicate that Ofori-Atta does not outwardly show signs of being gravely ill, contrary to claims that his health condition prevents him from facing legal proceedings.

Speaking on TV3 on January 10, 2026, Manasseh cautioned that health matters are sensitive but insisted that observations from people who see Ofori-Atta regularly suggest he is not severely incapacitated.
“When it comes to health, you cannot say much, but according to these sources, they see him [Ofori-Atta] living normally. That is what the sources say. Sometimes you see him out, and sometimes he gets visitors. So it’s like that’s the outward appearance. That’s what these sources say,” he stated.
Manasseh, however, acknowledged that appearances alone cannot conclusively determine a person’s medical condition.
“But of course, this is a health issue; you cannot just see someone and assume everyone is right,” he noted.
He noted that if claims by Ofori-Atta’s lawyers about his recuperation are accurate, then reports of his public activity would align with that position.
“But if they say he’s recuperating, I suspect he’s getting better, as the lawyers may have said, because from people who see him, that’s from the outside, it doesn’t look like someone who is very sick,” he said.
The investigative journalist further indicated that the information from Washington, DC, corroborates earlier reports that placed the former finance minister in the US capital late last year.
Manasseh also referenced Ofori-Atta’s travel history, which confirms his presence in the United States.
“And I think this information we are getting from Washington DC is consistent with somewhere last year, December or so, there were some reports that he was some reports that he was cited in Washington DC,” he stated.

He added, “And if you look at his travel records, he left this country on January 4, 2025, departed from Terminal 3, and then the airline he boarded was the United Airlines flight 997. That airline was headed for Washington DC, so it looks like his location and life within the DC area have also been confirmed.”
