The management of St. Monica’s Senior High School, Mampong in the Ashanti Region has appealed to stakeholders for support to construct an ultra-modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and E-library complex to enhance teaching and learning in the school.
The proposed complex is aimed at upgrading the school’s digital resources to support hands-on learning, expand access to global knowledge, and empower students with the skills required to thrive in a 21st-century learning environment.
Launch of Anniversary
The appeal was made by the Headmistress, Dr. Cynthia Asamoah Gyimah, during the launch of the school’s 80th anniversary celebration held in Kumasi.
Dr. Gyimah called on the government, parents, old students, corporate bodies, and other stakeholders to support the school achieve its vision of constructing the ICT and E- library complex.
The facility, she said, would provide students with access to global educational resources, help them develop in-demand technological skills, and position them to excel in the digital space.
Objective of the project
The Global President of the St. Monica’s Old Girls Association (SMOSA), Paulina Adjei Maafo, said the objective of the project was to equip students with digital fluency, strong research skills, and a high-tech learning environment necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
She urged all stakeholders to support the initiative, stating, “Let us join hands to bring this vision to fruition for the schoolgirls in our care.”
A senior lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, KNUST, and a proud old student of the school, Dr. Phyllis Tawiah, also reiterated the call on stakeholders and government to invest in education.

The occasion was also used to launch the official 80th anniversary cloth of the school.
Some of the programmes lined up to celebrate the 80th anniversary include Inter-houses competitions, panel discussions, fund raining programme towards the project, homecoming and mentorship programme with the climax in November with a speech and prize-giving day.
