Star Oil Pledges Full Probe After Oti Region Road Tragedy Kills Four

Tears Flow in Yeji as 8 Confirmed Dead in Gruesome Mini Bus Accident

A deadly road crash involving vehicles belonging to Star Oil has left four people dead and 14 others injured near Asukawkaw in Ghana’s Oti Region. The incident occurred on Thursday, 14 August 2025, and has triggered both grief and a company-led investigation.

According to the company’s management, an internal inquiry is already underway to establish what caused the accident. Star Oil has also confirmed it is working alongside the Ghana Police Service to assist with official investigations.

While facts surrounding the collision remain under review, the immediate human cost has been devastating. Four families are mourning the loss of their loved ones, while more than a dozen injured survivors are receiving medical care.

In a public statement, Star Oil expressed sorrow over the tragedy, describing the loss as “deeply painful” and extending condolences to all bereaved families. The company wished the injured a swift recovery and promised tangible assistance to those affected.

Management further stated that it is coordinating with emergency responders and local authorities to ensure that both the injured and the families of the deceased receive necessary support during this difficult time.
