Ghanaian gospel musician Evangelist Sonnie Badu has commended fellow artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale for their professionalism and strong spiritual foundation, while also hinting at a possible reggae feature with Stonebwoy.
Speaking on Angel FM, Sonnie Badu described Stonebwoy as a deeply spiritual individual, stressing that the music genre he represents does not define his faith or personal values.
“He knows God very well; it is just his craft that makes him behave in a certain way. He is God-fearing and even helps me with my reggae songs,” he said.
Sonnie Badu declared that he consults Stonebwoy for correct pronunciations in reggae tracks and that both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale show him great respect, making time to attend to him even when busy.
He stressed that their choice of music genre does not make them sinners, noting that the Bible dedicates portions to love, which transcends musical styles.
“We have sections of the Bible which is dedicated to love. One doing other genres of songs does not make them sinners”
On the reggae project, Dr. Badu revealed that he is currently exploring a different musical direction, and when the timing is right, he and Stonebwoy will collaborate on the song.
“I am on a different path now but when the right time comes, Stonebwoy and I will do a song together”
