Speaking on Off The Record in London, the Ghanaian artiste explained that his admiration for the armed forces comes from both personal interest and family influence, especially his father’s background as a former soldier.

He said the structure, discipline, and appearance of military life have long appealed to him.

“Personally, I would have loved to be a soldier. I just love the uniform and I love the discipline that comes with it. It fascinates me to be in the military. I love that because I’m one person who was grown like that, so I think the influence was right there. I love discipline. I love orderliness. Positivity aside everything,” he said.

According to him, that sense of discipline was not just an outside admiration but something embedded in his upbringing. Still, he acknowledged that choosing music over a more conventional path initially caused friction at home.

“I mean, I had a little hurdle with my dad, because for whatever reason at first, but now it’s what it is. You can’t stop what it’s supposed to be. If I was to become a doctor, I’m not sure anybody could have stopped me. I would still have become a doctor,” Stonebwoy stated.

Apart from reflections on his early ambitions, Stonebwoy is preparing for a major international milestone with his flagship festival, BHIM Fest, set to debut in the United Kingdom.

The event will take place at OVO Arena Wembley on August 15, 2026, marking an expansion of the festival beyond West Africa.
