- Track was intended as a prayer and thanksgiving, not a diss.
- Artist emphasizes that claims are baseless and misrepresent the song’s meaning.
Dancehall heavyweight Stonebwoy has dismissed claims that his track Deeper, featured on his The Torcher EP, was crafted as a diss aimed at Shatta Wale. The song, which has been trending since the project’s September 9 release, sparked online debate after some listeners suggested its lyrics referenced Shatta Wale’s recent issues with the Economic and Financial Crimes Office over a Lamborghini.
Stonebwoy clarified that the project had already been submitted to digital platforms on August 8, nearly a month before its release, making it impossible for the lyrics to be a reaction to later events. He stressed that Deeper was intended as a prayerful reflection and an expression of gratitude to God, not a commentary on anyone’s personal struggles.

According to the artist, the speculation surrounding the track is unfounded, as the content was finalized long before the public associated it with external controversies. For him, the song symbolizes faith and appreciation rather than rivalry.
The conversation around the track highlights the long-standing comparisons drawn between Ghana’s two leading dancehall figures, but Stonebwoy insists that Deeper should be seen strictly as a spiritual record and not a jab in the ongoing rivalry.
