Renowned Reggae/Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has been crowned Artiste of the Year at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards, which celebrated its 25th anniversary. Stonebwoy, known for his hit song “Into the Future,” also took home five other awards, making him one of the night’s biggest winners.
In addition to the top prize, Stonebwoy won Record of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year for his “5th Dimension” album, International Collaboration of the Year for “Manodzi” featuring Angelique Kidjo, and Songwriter of the Year.
This marks the second time Stonebwoy has won Artiste of the Year, having previously secured the title in 2015. On stage, an emotional Stonebwoy dedicated the award to his late mother, saying, “I want to thank God and my mama who died for this award. She is watching over me since.”
Stonebwoy expressed his gratitude to his fans, stating, “I am consistent with my work, and I couldn’t have done it all by myself.
