In Kpandai in the Northern Region, two chiefs’ supporters got into a violent altercation over a gravel pit, injuring two persons with cutlasses.

The main point of contention is a gravel pit that is being used to repair the Dobong community road.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch leader, who was on the scene when the incident happened, claims that the Nkanchina chief granted the land so that gravel could be extracted for the road project.

However, they were allegedly instructed to cease operations by another chief in Kpandai, who was named as Nana Ntosah.

According to the NDC chairman, Nana Ntosah allegedly deployed payloaders to the location, but the Nkanchinachief’s followers opposed the operation and stopped the machinery from working.

This argument turned violent, resulting in six motorcycles being set on fire and two persons suffering cutlass wounds.
