The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested Stephen Kwakye for conspiring to commit robbery against a gold miner at Manso Abrense near Manso Nsiana in the Ashanti Region.

The December 30 arrest follows intelligence that he and other accomplices were planning an attack on a victim who routinely transports gold to Kumasi for sale.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect played a key role in organising the robbery, including monitoring the victim’s movements and coordinating with accomplices to accost him while in transit.
