The Paramount Chief of the Tatale Traditional Area, Naa Kpale Bore Dawuni Atta Nkaraa II, has appealed to the government to prioritise development and support efforts to maintain peace in the area.

He emphasised that Tatale remained underdeveloped, with critical challenges affecting education, healthcare, markets and water supply.

NaKpale Nkaraa II, known in private life as Abebe Dawuni, made the appeal during a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolf, in Tamale.

The visit was to deliberate on development issues and strengthen collaboration to advance development in the traditional area.

Until his enskinment by the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II, in July 2025, the paramount chief was a renowned freelance journalist.

In his remarks, the paramount chief highlighted pressing issues such as poor healthcare services, a lack of educational facilities, the absence of a modern market and the need for expanded water infrastructure.

For his part, Mr Adolf pledged the government’s commitment to ensuring that the people of Tatale had their share of the national cake.

He lauded the chief for championing development issues and pledged to continue supporting initiatives that would improve the standard of living of the people.

The minister also appealed to the chiefs to take stringent measures against the rising cases of drug abuse, noting that its negative impact on health, security and social stability was alarming.
