TDC Ghana Ltd has inaugurated the TDC Pensioners’ Network, a strategic initiative designed to strengthen engagement with retired staff while safeguarding the organisation’s institutional memory.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Friday, February 6, 2026, brought together management, current staff and pensioners who served the company over several decades. The event celebrated the dedication, sacrifices and contributions of former employees whose work underpinned TDC’s growth, stability and transformation.
Addressing the gathering, the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd, Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, described the occasion as historic and deeply humbling. He emphasised that the company’s present achievements were firmly rooted in the commitment and professionalism of its earlier workforce.
“Before the estates, communities and landmarks that define Tema and beyond, there were men and women who gave their time, talent and energy to build this institution. Quite simply, there is no TDC without you,” he stated.
He explained that the formation of the Pensioners’ Network was more than symbolic, describing it as a deliberate step to recognise loyal service, honour experience and ensure that the contributions of retired staff remain integral to the company’s story.
According to him, the Network will serve as a structured platform for continued engagement, fellowship, mentorship, knowledge-sharing and mutual support among pensioners. It will also provide management with access to decades of accumulated institutional knowledge.
“Even in retirement, your wisdom remains an asset we cannot afford to lose. Management has, on several occasions, relied on the expertise and insight of former staff for guidance, and this Network will further strengthen that collaboration,” he said.
Mr Nunekpeku urged unity among all stakeholders, stressing that at this stage of TDC’s development, progress would depend on collective effort and shared purpose.
“As we reach this point in our journey, it is no longer about differences. It is about unity, moving forward together, and focusing on the future of the company,” he added.
He further outlined the company’s forward-looking agenda, which includes expanding affordable housing delivery, enhancing operational efficiency and advancing transformational development projects nationwide. He noted that anchoring future plans in the experience of those who built the company would be critical to achieving those goals.
Members of the newly inaugurated Network expressed appreciation to management, describing the initiative as a meaningful recognition of their years of service and a valuable opportunity to remain connected to the organisation.
The President of the TDC Pensioners’ Network, Evans Y. Aryee-Quaye, pledged the full support of the Network to management, assuring continued collaboration in advancing the company’s growth and transformation agenda.
Mr Aryee-Quaye said the progress made by the Network over the past eleven months had surpassed expectations, attributing the achievement to unity, dedication and faith.
He underscored the relevance of the retirees’ collective experience to the company’s future. “Our Network is an archive of institutional memory that can be placed at the disposal of the company from time to time,” he said.
He further pledged the Network’s loyalty to the Managing Director and the management team, affirming the pensioners’ readiness to support ongoing reforms and initiatives aimed at positioning TDC as a model organisation.
Also addressing the gathering, Executive Member of the Network, Winifred Boachie-Yiadom, recounted the efforts that culminated in the establishment of the Network, noting that persistence, unity and collective action among pensioners were instrumental in bringing the initiative to fruition.
