A temporary power outage has disrupted electricity supply across parts of Greater Kumasi after a minor fault was detected at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) on Sunday.
The fault resulted in reduced power delivery to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), leading to outages in several communities within the Kumasi metropolis.
In a statement issued by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, GRIDCo and ECG said joint technical teams are working to fix the problem and restore electricity as quickly as possible.
The Assembly also announced that security patrols have been intensified in the affected areas to maintain public safety and prevent any disturbances during the outage.
Residents have been advised to remain calm and exercise patience while repair works continue.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation,” the statement said.
