Tensions reportedly flared at the Saint Mary’s Anglican School Park polling station in Kasoa, Awutu Senya East during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary as delegates discovered their names missing from the register.
The voting process on Saturday, January 31, 2025, which was expected to be a smooth internal exercise, has been marked by confusion and heated exchanges.
According to videos circulating from the grounds, some aggrieved delegates confronted Electoral Commission officials and security personnel after being reportedly told they could not vote because their names were not found in the album.
The video shows arguments breaking out as affected delegates demanded immediate clarification and accountability, insisting they were duly accredited and eligible to participate in the process. Police officers were seen intervening to calm tempers and restore order as frustrations mounted.

The development comes at a critical moment for the party, as five aspirants, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyei-Agyepong, contest to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
While voting continues in many centres, the reported omissions have injected an element of tension into an exercise that party leaders had earlier urged delegates to approach with unity and discipline.
