Executives of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been urged to rally behind Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership and called to mobilise support for a new transformation.
“We want a mighty majority for Dr Bawumia,” Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, said, emphasising the need for strong backing to achieve victory in the 2028 general elections.
Mr Afenyo-Markin described Dr Bawumia as a “tried and tested leader with solutions,” echoing a sentiment of confidence in his ability to lead the party to success.
He said this on Wednesday, when he engaged with some TESCON executives across the region at the Parliament House in Accra.
As the party prepared for the Election 2028, the Minority Leader, also the NPP Member of Parliament for Effutu, reminded members of the importance of unity and loyalty, with a focus on securing a majority in the upcoming polls.
“As we prepare and go into election 2028… I’m counting on all of you to work towards a common goal,” he said.
Nana Boakye, the President of TESCON at the Christian Service University, expressed gratitude for the party’s recognition and support, highlighting the importance of motivation beyond financial rewards.
He shared a personal story of facing challenges for speaking up for the Party’s cause, emphasising the importance of self-motivation and party support.
