Guinness Ghana has announced a major cash and support package for the winner of the Album/EP of the Year category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, reinforcing its commitment to the growth of Ghana’s music industry.

Beginning with the 27th edition of the awards, the ultimate winner of the category will walk away with a GH₵100,000 cash prize. In addition, the artiste will receive support towards the production of a music video for their next project, as well as a curated album listening experience powered by Guinness Ghana.

The initiative is designed to go beyond the usual recognition on awards night by offering practical support that helps artistes grow their craft and expand their reach.

Guinness Ghana says the package is part of its broader effort to invest in creative excellence and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s music ecosystem.

Head of Media and Partnerships at Guinness Ghana, Yaa Amoah-Owusu, explained that the Album/EP of the Year category represents the highest level of artistry.

“This package is Guinness Ghana’s way of recognising excellence and investing in the future of the artist and the industry at large,” she said.

She noted that albums and EPs reflect an artiste’s full creative vision, from storytelling to sound identity, and therefore deserve strong backing.

Beyond the cash prize, the curated listening experience is expected to create more opportunities for audience engagement and industry connections. It will also help boost visibility for the winner’s next body of work.

According to Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse, the initiative is timely and important.

“This is an important intervention from Guinness Ghana. It aligns with our commitment to celebrate and elevate Ghanaian music, while also creating tangible support for artistes,” he said.

He added that the move highlights the importance of albums and EPs as lasting creative works in the music industry.

This year’s Album/EP of the Year category features a strong list of contenders, including Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Gyakie, Medikal, Wendy Shay and Kweku Smoke.
