The Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Professor Amin Alhassan has stated that the current structure of the organization is not fit for purpose. He also revealed that, the scheme of service is 30 years old.
“.. currently, we have structures that were put in place when GBC was the only media house and when it was analog”, he said.
Prof. Alhassan highlighted the need to restructure GBC to respond to the challenges, demands and dictates of the digital media economy.
Addressing the President, John Dramani Mahama during his visit to GBC today, Prof. Alhassan added that, the corporation has gotten the Public Service Commission to approve the new organogram which constitutes the arrangement and management of the corporation.
According to him, the corporation has also worked on the draft scheme of service which has been submitted to the Public Service Commission for approval stating that, there will be a lot of changes once that is approved.
