Ghanaian media personality, known by the pseudonym, Kwame Tanko has reacted to the new prices of cocoa, which have become a topic of online discussion.
Speaking on one of the recent episodes of his “Ghana Se Sen” show, Kwame Tanko noted some of the factors that triggered the decrease in cocoa prices.
Kwame Tanko stated that in the international market, Ghana is facing numerous problems as far as the sales of cocoa are concerned.
He went on to state emphatically that the depreciation of the dollar to the cedi is one of the factors that triggered the decrease in prices of cocoa.
According to Kwame Tanko, because of the dollar depreciation, not much profit is made when cocoa is sold in the international market.
“At the moment, where we stand now, Ghana is facing numerous problems in the international market. The dollar and cedi’s fight is also not helping. Because, in the end, you wouldn’t make enough if you sell cocoa at the international market market”, he said.
