Nigerian street-hop artist Portable has called out legendary Fuji singer Saheed Osupa after his song was removed from major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, due to a copyright dispute.
The incident erupted when Portable included a line from Osupa’s track in one of his own songs. This led to complaints from Osupa and his team, resulting in the song’s removal from the platforms.
In a passionate Instagram video shared on Wednesday, Portable didn’t hold back, expressing his anger towards Osupa for allegedly reporting the song.
He accused Osupa of not supporting his rise in the music industry, even labeling him as “big for nothing.”
The controversy deepened as Portable compared Osupa’s actions with those of another Fuji music giant, Pasuma.
According to Portable, Pasuma had been much more understanding and accommodating of his music, even when he made changes to his tracks.
Portable’s rant made it clear that he felt Osupa had acted unfairly, drawing a stark contrast between the two Fuji stars.
He implied that while he had borrowed from Osupa’s song, he had removed parts of Pasuma’s tracks without any backlash, stressing that support from fellow musicians is key for growth.
This ongoing back-and-forth between the two artists has sparked widespread discussions among fans and music lovers alike, with many taking sides and debating the situation on social media.
