Top Mining CEO Breaks Silence Over Explosive Fraud Allegations

Angela List, the Chief Executive Officer of Adamus Resources Ltd., has responded forcefully to claims of fraud, misrepresentation, and regulatory violations allegedly filed against her with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) by a man identified as Michael Benziecie. In a public statement issued on Tuesday, she dismissed the accusations as unfounded, malicious, and part of a deliberate campaign to damage her reputation and that of others in the mining sector.

The allegations, which have gained traction in the media, also name Martin Kwaku Ayisi, the CEO of the Minerals Commission, and a woman referred to as Rebecca Donkor, who is described as a supposed facilitator. According to Angela List, there is no factual basis for any of the claims, and none of the individuals mentioned have been approached by EOCO in connection with the complaint.

She questioned the motives behind the public circulation of these accusations, suggesting they were intended to mislead the public and defame key industry players. The Adamus CEO further disclosed that the accuser, Benziecie, has been involved in unauthorized mining on their company’s legally held concessions. She stated that these illegal operations were recently shut down by authorities as part of ongoing efforts to curb galamsey, or illegal mining.

She blamed Benziecie’s activities for both environmental degradation and operational challenges within Adamus’ concession area. Reaffirming the company’s commitment to lawful and environmentally responsible mining, she emphasized that Adamus adheres strictly to both the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703) as amended, and the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1994 (Act 490).

Rejecting any link to unlawful mining or extortion, Angela List stated she would welcome any official probe into the matter and is confident that an investigation would reveal the accusations to be false. She also warned that legal action may be taken to defend her personal integrity and safeguard the company’s image.
