The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has charged the newly inaugurated Grains Export Permits Committee to discharge its duties with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and collaboration.

The Minister made the call in a speech read on her behalf at the inauguration of the 11-member committee in Accra on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

She assured the committee of the Ministry’s full support to enable it to effectively carry out its mandate, stressing that its deliberations must be guided by evidence, national policy objectives and a shared commitment to the long-term sustainability of Ghana’s grains sector.

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare highlighted the strategic importance of the grains sector to Ghana’s economy, noting that it supports livelihoods in rural communities, contributes significantly to national food security, and enhances the country’s standing in regional and international trade.
