The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has called on traders at Okaishie and Makola markets in Accra to maintain fair and reasonable pricing of goods, especially during the Christmas season.

The Minister made the appeal during a working visit to assess trading activities and engage directly with market operators.

Accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive, Michael Kpakpo Allotey, and the President of the Ghana Union of Traders Associations (GUTA), Clement Boateng, Mrs Ofosu-Adjare encouraged traders to reflect the current economic stability in their pricing to protect consumers and sustain public trust.

Mr. Boateng thanked the government for policies that have helped stabilise the economy and appealed for stricter enforcement of laws restricting foreigners from retail trade, which he said continues to affect local businesses.
