The 2 women arrested over the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl
The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two women in connection with the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl at La Roman JHS School area on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
The incident came to light when the victim’s mother reported the matter to the police, stating that her daughter had been attacked by three women without provocation.
According to the police, “The mother brought her daughter to the police station, where the child was found with visible marks of assault.
“Upon receiving the complaint, the police quickly gathered a statement from the mother and issued a Police Medical Report Form for the victim to undergo medical examination.”

The police statement added that; “Initial investigations revealed that earlier on the same day, the victim had an argument with a seven-year-old boy, identified as Horm Giftan Mesopeh, who is related to the suspects. The altercation reportedly triggered the subsequent assault by the suspects.”
According to the victim’s mother, the suspects then went to the family’s home, forcibly took the girl to their residence and subjected her to physical assault.
On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, following an investigation, the complainant assisted the police in arresting two of the suspects: Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25.
A third individual, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo, aged 49, a fashion designer and the mother of the two arrested women, is reportedly on the run and believed to have travelled to the Volta Region.

The Accra Regional Police Command has issued a public warning against resorting to violence in dispute resolution, especially in cases involving children.
The command urges parents, guardians, and community members to pursue legal avenues for resolving conflicts and report such incidents to the authorities promptly.
The police further stressed the importance of respecting the law and ensuring the safety and welfare of children at all times.
