Prof Felix Ankomah Asante is the Pro Vice-Chancellor of RID at the University of Ghana
The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Research and Innovation Directorate at the University of Ghana, Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, has urged the 2026 graduates to strive for excellence in their future endeavors.
He congratulated the graduands for their determination and diligence in completing their programs successfully despite the challenges they faced.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the College of Humanities, held at the Great Hall on the UG campus on February 21, 2026, Professor Ankomah said, “Graduating students, today we celebrate the completion of your academic programs as well as the boldness and confidence with which you step into the next stage of your lives. Congratulations and best wishes to you all.”

He further highlighted the university’s strong performance in global rankings, positioning it among the top tertiary institutions worldwide.
“I’m particularly proud to highlight the university’s exceptional performance in global university rankings, which reflect the strength of our academic enterprise and research environment. In the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the University of Ghana emerged as Ghana’s top-performing institution in key areas such as research environment, industry engagement, and international outlook in the 2026 QS World University Rankings,” he added.
The February 2026 congregation ceremonies were dedicated to undergraduate and postgraduate students from the four colleges of the university.
In total, 15,288 graduands were awarded degrees during 17 congregation sessions. This includes 153 PhDs, 4,197 master’s graduates, 10,543 undergraduates, and 395 diploma holders.
